Singapore is the largest port in Southeast Asia and one of the busiest in the world. It is a sovereign island country and city-state in maritime Southeast Asia. Singapore is located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, about 85 miles (137 kilometres) north of the Equator. Singapore is the fourth most overworked city in the world, according to a study by Kisi, an American security solutions company. Most Singaporeans experience the hurdles of juggling their work and personal life, not to mention if they also have to provide care for the elderly at home. Currently, 17.6 per cent of the population here are aged 65 and above, with many of whom have difficulties performing one basic activity such as self-care, and will require some form of care. Therefore, nursing home proves to be one of the very many services needed, especially among the working class community who are struggling to adequately fulfil their roles both at the workplace and at home. It becomes very challenging and stressful to find a point of balance between careers and families. This is where nursing homes, nursing care and home care services come in, to help fulfil the roles and ease the burdens. Choosing the right nursing home is a big decision, no matter if you need a nursing home personally or are looking for a high-quality nursing home for a loved one. To help you choose the right facilities located near you in Singapore, we put together the 10 best nursing homes list.

Customer reviews:
"The visit to Jewel was very well organised and carefully thought of with the elderly in mind. From the moment they stepped out of the centre, to the bus, the destination, toilet breaks and food; every detail was addressed with much care.
The teamwork amongst your staff was superb. They ensured the elderly were happily engaged, they shared jokes and had friendly chats. They scouted picture moments, and snapped dozens of pictures for the elderly to capture the special memories; ensuring no one was missed out.
One point I took away that reinforces why you are so great at what you do is when your staff said "when I first joined, our manager said we must treat the elderly as our parents". With that said and ingrained into the caregivers within your centre, we entrust our parents with you, knowing you always have their best interest in mind." -Hong L.

"My mum was there initially for 2 weeks for Respite care as my helper had gone back for Home Leave. The nurses there took good care of my dementia mum such that this time she never complain and wanted to come home. When my helper didn't come back due to domestic problems back home, Diyana was such an Angel and lend a great helping hand to my family by continuing to take care of my mum at Orange Valley Marsiling while I source for a new helper. Diyana was always in the background assuring me and keeping my spirit up during this crisis. Thank you Diyana!"

Customer reviews:
"My father had a bad fall in October last year. My father moved to NTUC Health Chai Chee Nursing Home in February after. spending months in a community hospital. At Chai Chee Nursing Home, my father received extremely good care by staff nurses who cared for him and treated him with kindness and respect. He also received regular rehabilitation exercises by the therapists there, and his progress was closely monitored by Gary Goh, the Occupational Therapist whom was in charge of his discharge planning
Gary, along with his team, came up with a program to help my father get back to his feet. My father was provided training that allowed him to become more independent. Before my father could be discharged to return home, my father was given an assessment that allowed him to demonstrate that he could do daily necessitates such as personal hygiene and showering. I was given caregiver training to provide for my father's care. Less than two weeks before discharge, a home visit was also conducted by Gary who visited my parents home with my father and myself and Gary assessed how safety can be improved in the home environment in order to ensure to prevent another fall from occurring. He also advised us on getting the necessary walking aids and helped us with the application of these aids. Another special thanks to Dhiren Dev, the medical social worker who helped us with the paperwork in applying the various grants and schemes offered by AIC.
My family is very grateful to all everyone at Chai Chee Nursing Home who helped my father recover from the fall. He is happy to be back home, with his wife. Thank you and please continue the good work that you do." -Sunil N.
